Earthquake activity 2017

The gospels warn us that in the end times there will be earthquakes, famines, pestilences, and fearful sights in the heavens. The waters will be turned to poison and a third of the fish and birds will die - all things that we see happening today. Is the end near?

These signs were foretold in the Word of God thousands of years ago and are all coming to fruition at the same time, along with hundreds of other prophecies. They should alert people to the reality of Yahweh, but some people claim these things are nothing new. They say we just hear about them more because of the internet. Well, I was curious about this, so I did some research and dug up some statistics.

The U.S. Geological Survey was founded in 1879 and it's probably safe to assume it took many years for them to begin to monitor and collect seismic activity around the world, but according to their database, the chart shown here represents an undeniable increase in quakes. There were more than 36 times the earthquakes between 2000 and 2009 as there were from 1950 to 1959. (There were 6,507 earthquakes recorded between 1950-1959 and 239,252 recorded between 2000-2009). As of April 10, 2017, there have been 5,108 earthquakes around the world (min. 2.5+ magnitude) . That's an average of 51 per day or one every half hour.

While the numbers do fluctuate, the following graph shows the steady overall increase of average daily earthquakes of 2.5+ magnitude around the world:

This playlist features footage of recent earthquakes, to bring the devastation to light. Our prayers go up for the people affected by these catastrophes.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

(Matthew 24:7)

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles:

these are the beginnings of sorrows.

(Mark 13:8)

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

(Luke 21:11)

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours. Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying, Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

(Jeremiah 5:19-23)

The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

(Psalms 145:18)

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek:

for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

(Romans 10:12)

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

(Romans 10:13)

I do not write this to shame you, but to warn you as my beloved children.

(1 Corinthians 4:14)
